Dietary requirement? Here's where to eat at the airport

There’s plenty on the menu for you here at the airport, from snacks to meals, sweet treats to healthy eats. Whatever your dietary needs, discover a wide range of tasty options in this handy airport eating guide.

Travelling with a special dietary requirement can be tough at times, but with a smorgasbord of options here in the terminal, there’s plenty to keep you satisfied before or after your trip.

From locally sourced fresh produce to a wide range of specialty snacks and meals, you’ll be deliciously spoilt for choice. So instead of needing to pre-prepare your snacks and meals at home, you can simply eat on the go – or better yet, make a meal at the airport a special part of your trip!

Ground Floor

Coffee Culture

Coffee Culture offers a range of options for those with dietary requirements. Choose a light lunch or scrummy snack, paired with a hot coffee brewed to perfection. Short of listing the whole menu, we’ve highlighted some of our faves below.

Vegetarian options include roast pumpkin, broccoli and courgette frittata, courgette and halloumi fritters, plus loads of delicious baked goods.

Vegan diners can fill up on the creamy mushroom and spinach filo, carrot and walnut muffin, carrot raw bliss bites or Pic’s peanut butter cups.

Gluten-free snacks include raspberry coconut and white chocolate muffins, chocolate cheesecake muffins, salted caramel cheesecake brownie slices, Pic’s peanut butter protein energy balls, and more.

Dairy-free eaters can choose from a spinach and feta loaf, raw afghan slice, Snickers bliss bite, raw raspberry and goji ball or maple apple and cinnamon bun – plus a range of milk substitutes for your coffee.

Hub Cafe & Bar

Those taking regional flights will be familiar with Hub Cafe & Bar. Located on the Ground Floor next to Gates 3-15, they offer a variety of snacks and other goodies.

Vegetarian options include tasty vegetarian pies, cheese rolls, loaded vege sourdough sandwiches and fresh vegetable wraps.

Gluten-free and dairy-free eaters will enjoy our delectable chia pudding.

Level One, Food Court

Number 8

When hunger’s the number one thing on your mind, get yourself straight to Number Eight.

Dairy-free flyers will appreciate being able to enjoy a splash of coconut, soy or almond milk in their coffees.

Vegetarian options include nachos, soup of the day, vegetarian filo, zingy falafel burger, scones and muffins, Plant Based Goodness (keep reading for details!), eggs benedict, eggs on toast, breaky oaty bowl, granola bowl, crunchy chips, crunchy polenta fries, kumara wedges or multigrain toasted sandwich.

Vegan travellers can fill up with their delicious Plant Based Goodness, a fully loaded vegan cooked breakfast – mushrooms, grilled tomatoes, spinach vegetarian sausage, kumara rosti and ciabatta. Yum!

Gluten-free meal ideas include Plant Based Goodness with gluten-free toast, crunchy polenta fries, or multigrain toasted sandwich with gluten free bread.

Tank

Whatever your diet or craving, the crew at Tank are ready with a heap of fresh, wholesome ingredients to keep you fuelled on your journey. From juices and smoothies to salads and wraps, Tank is your go-to for healthy food, made fast.

Dairy-free / vegetarian / vegan / gluten-free – With so many amazing options there’s simply no room to list them all here! Your best bet is to head to their website where you can browse everything on offer, or simply show up knowing a full bounty awaits. Some of our favourites include Xtreme C juice, Salted Caramel smoothie, Paleo Active Greens salad, Thai Chicken wrap and Organic Acai smoothie bowl. From sweet to savoury, Tank has it covered.

The Sushi Platter

A wide variety of ramen, udon, donburi, curries and salads at The Sushi Platter promise to keep all dietary persuasions satisfied! Don't forget nibbles and sides too, with edamame, miso soup and seaweed salad to round out your meal.

Underground Coffee Company

The Underground team are more than renowned baristas, they’re also creators of a delicious selection of freshly baked items and prepared meals. They cater for a range of dietary requirements, with no compromises on flavour.

Dairy-free caffeinators can request coconut, soy or almond milk in their coffees.

Vegetarian options include falafel wraps, spinach and feta rolls, fresh fruit salad, cheese and pineapple rolls, yoghurt granola bowls and a tasty selection of scones, muffins, croissants and danishes.

Gluten-free choices include orange almond cake, gluten-free bacon egg muffins and gluten-free salmon bagels.

Burger King

For lots of us, burgers made better means burgers made meatless! Burger King has some pretty amazing plant-based alternatives to the standard meat patty.

Vegetarian diners, get ready to join the rebellion with the Rebel BK Whopper or Rebel BK Chook. 100% meat-free, they’re full of flame grilled flavour and locally sourced fresh ingredients. Top your Rebel just how you like it and serve it with a side of onion rings. (Please note, Rebel burgers do contain dairy and eggs.)

Relay

Hiding amongst the books, magazines and gadgets, you can also find a range of snack ideas to suit at Relay. Pick up a Cookie Time gluten-free cookie and of course Tom and Luke’s Snackaball range is perfect for vegans. Nibble as you wait, or pop them into your bag for a tasty pick-me-up on the fly.

Domestic Departures

Icons

Once you’re through domestic screening, pop into Icons for a quick bite before you fly.

Gluten-free goodies include chia pudding, carrot cake, almond cake and fresh fruit salad.

Vegetarian menu items include fully loaded vege sourdough sandwiches, vegetable wraps, loaded ciabatta (vegan option available) or hot and satisfying vegetarian pies.

International Departures

Alps Bar and Pizza

Enjoy cozy Kiwi dining with a view to match! Alps Bar and Pizza provides a range of options catering to those with dietary requirements.

Dairy-free flyers can choose soy or almond milk.

Gluten-free diners will love our sandwich options: chicken and lettuce, or ham, lettuce, tomato and cheese — all on deliciously doughy gluten-free bread. Try our orange and almond cake for a gluten-free sweet treat.

Vegetarian options include cheesy garlic and margherita pizzas, fries and wedges, two choices of green salads, bruschetta, cheese boards, plus smashed avo and feta for a hearty brekkie. Other menu items to entice the vege-inclined include a healthy vegetarian wrap, loaded ciabatta (which is both vegetarian and vegan!) and fresh fruit salad.

Long White Kitchen

Long White Kitchen has more to offer than views out over the runway to the mountains… their menu caters to a wide range of diets too.

Dairy-free milk options are available, and there’s a scrummy dairy-free egg and rocket sandwich on the menu.

Vegetarian dishes include chia pudding, oats, yoghurt granola, orange-almond cake (also gluten-free), blueberry, apple or chocolate Danishes and croissants. Meals include pumpkin quiche, vege soup, eggs bene, fries/kumara fries/wedges.

Vegans will be thrilled to start their day with the hearty LWK plant-based breakfast.
